The Irish Rowing Championships took place at the weekend and attracted thousands to the National Rowing Centre in Cork.

The final morning of the three-day 2025 Irish Rowing Championships saw Mags Cremen claim victory in the Women’s Senior Single Sculls for UCC Rowing Club, while Fintan McCarthy won the Men’s Senior Single Sculls title for Skibbereen Rowing Club.

Enniskillen Royal Boat Club won in the Women’s Junior 18 Eight, following their triumph in the men’s equivalent on Saturday. Dublin University Ladies Boat Club won in the Women’s Intermediate Coxed Four, and Commercial Rowing Club took the win in the Men’s Club 2 Eight.

The University of Galway took victories in both the Men’s Intermediate Coxed Four and the Men’s Intermediate Double, while in the Junior 16 Single Sculls, Sam Wheeler O’Brien of Skibbereen Rowing Club finished first.

In the evening session, Queen’s University Belfast Boat Club won in the Novice Men’s Eight, St Michael’s won well in the Junior 18 Men’s Double Sculls, while Isabella Monahan of Shandon Boat Club led from the front to victory in the Junior 16 Women’s Single Scull, and Methodist College Boat Club won the Women’s Junior 18 Coxless Quad.

The highlight of the evening was the Senior Eights, with UCD Boat Club claiming victory in the men’s race and the University of Galway Boat Club finishing first in the women’s event.
