Cork will be without Ger Millerick for Saturday week’s Munster SHC final but manager Pat Ryan is waiting to see how the other injured players fare.

Millerick was forced off in Sunday’s win over Waterford with what has been confirmed as a broken finger, while Jack Cahalane (hamstring) is also on the injured list.

“Ger Millerick is probably the only fella who will definitely be out,” Ryan said.

“He'll be out for about three-to-four weeks, he has a fracture in his finger. It's not too bad but it needs to be in a splint for three weeks so hopefully he'll be back for the next part of the All-Ireland series.

“Jack Cahalane as well – he hurt his hamstring last Thursday night. He's actually been going great since he joined us.

It took him a while to kind of find his feet but over the last three or four weeks he's been excellent.

“He's played excellent with the Barrs as well in the couple of games we released him to. They're the two fellas really who are definitely out.

“I suppose the key is that we need to go up to Limerick with bodies and fellas who are fully able to go. We're back training on Saturday and we'd need to see the lads in training to assess them.”

Aside from Millerick, Declan Dalton and captain Robert Downey are both carrying hamstring injuries, while Niall O’Leary was substituted in the round-robin defeat to Limerick with a groin problem.

DIFFERENT

Robbie O’Flynn missed the Waterford match but he is back in contention.

“Yeah, Robbie will be okay,” Ryan said. “Robbie trained fully on Saturday so he should be available for selection.

The other three, if they don't train on Saturday, they won't be available for selection – to start, anyway.

“They're all back doing running and they're all back with the physios doing their rehab and stuff like that, but getting back on to the field and training with the team is a different thing.”
