Division 1 reports:

After three rounds of fixtures in Division 2 of the RedFM Hurling League, Midleton sit in splendid isolation with six points, having earned their third victory against Na Piarsaigh last Thursday.

Cormac Beausang hit 2-8, 2-5 of that from play, as the home side were 2-23 to 2-19 winners at Clonmult Memorial Park, with Luke O’Farrell and Cormac Walsh also prominent agmong the Magpies’ scorers. Craig Hanafin and Eoin Galvin got the Na Piarsaigh goals while Pádraig Guest contributed seven points for the northside outfit.

However, while Midleton are top of the table on their own, they are not the only team with a 100 percent record – Erin’s Own have a game in hand on their neighbours and are two from two.

They beat the only other side who had had a perfect record, Killeagh, by 2-16 to 2-12 in Killeagh last Thursday. Finn O’Brien scored 1-4 for the Caherlag outfit while Matthew O’Riordan was on hand to score 1-2 and Eoghan Murphhy landed seven points. Ryan McCarthy stood out for Killeagh, scoring 1-4, while Dara Motherway got the other goal and Richie Long finished with six points.

Level with the East Cork pair on four points are Newtownshandrum, who had a commanding 3-18 to 0-9 win against Fermoy. Two of the goals were scored by Ronan Gear, Conor Griffin also raised a green flag and Jamie Coughlan hit five points.

In the mid-Cork derby on Sunday, Ballincollig got their first win of the season, beating Éire Ógby 2-19 to 0-9 at Ovens.

With the aid of a strong first-half wind, Éamonn Keating's side were 1-13 to 0-4 ahead at the break, Cian O'Driscoll hitting the net, as Adam Wills and Seán O'Neill fired 0-3 apiece.

David O'Sullivan and Colin Moore were impressive in a solid Ballincollig defence while Eoin O'Shea shot 0-5 for the hosts and Kevin Hallisey clipped over two points, one a brilliant sideline cut. The visitors got a late goal when Brian Keating diverted a booming Fenton Denny clearance into the net, taking his tally to 1-3.

Also on Sunday, Eoghan Crowley got Valley Rovers’ goal as they beat south-east rivals Ballymartle by 1-22 to 0-14.

In Division 3, Newcestown are the front-runners, having had their third straight win with a 3-19 to 1-12 triumph at home to Mallow on Saturday. All of the West Cork side’s goal came in the first half, with Colm O’Donovan, Richard O’Sullivan and Ciarán O’Donovan on target as they retired with a 3-9 to 0-7 interval lead.
