The Reardens All-Stars awards night returned for its 14th year last Friday, December 27, with the best players from ladies’ football, camogie, hurling and football honoured for their efforts throughout the club season.
The event is an excellent way to acknowledge the top players at club level in both codes, and it proved to be another enjoyable evening for all involved.
St Val’s Aisling Kelleher picked up her third All-Star in two years, though there were no players to pick up an award in both codes this year.

Mark Corrigan was the sole divisional representative in football this year, taking an award for Muskerry as they reached the quarter-finals before being beaten by Mallow.
Jack Cahalane, Mark Collins and Barry Cripps returned for another All-Star after each winning one last year, though for Brian Hurley, Steven Sherlock and Rory Maguire all won fourth consecutive Reardens All-Stars.

By contrast, there wasn’t a single repeat from last year’s hurling team – as Imokilly went from zero recipients in 2023 to seven this year.
Imokilly captain Ciarán O’Brien was joined by six of his teammates, including three other defenders in Timmy Wilk, Ciarán Joyce and Daire O’Leary – while goalkeeper Eoin Davis and star forward Jack Leahy made up the rest of the candystripes’ representatives.
Kelly Falvey for Glen Rovers and Amy Sheppard from Cloughduv were the only camogie winners not from Sarsfields and St Finbarr’s, with the two finalists dominating selection.
All-Ireland Senior Camogie Championship winner Orlaith Cahalane took home an All-Star while Sarsfields’ Orlaith Mullins won a second consecutive award.

The hurling team included six members of the Cork panel, though none of Cork’s five PwC GAA GPA Hurling All-Star Awards winners featured, as the only two eligible for selection in Seamus Harnedy and Darragh Fitzgibbon missed out.
The latter’s clubmate did win an award though – with Tim Hawe’s tally of 7-7 giving him the full-forward spot for 2024.

Aghada’s defensive stars in Sarah Walsh, Sarah Leahy and Róisín Phelan all took home awards in ladies’ football while the experienced Hannah Looney and Emma Farmer join Kaitlin Smith to make up the six All-Stars for the first time senior champions.
