Cork boxer Cathal Crowley won his sixth professional fight and still remains unbeaten after he stopped Polish fighter Mikolaj Rabczak in a Super Middleweight bout at the Europa Point Sports Complex in Gibraltar last Sunday night.

This was a very impressive display by Crowley, as he put Rabczak under pressure from the very first bell unleashing some punishing blows to his opponents' head and body and the fight was stopped at the end of the fourth round with the Polish fighter complaining about a broken jaw.

INTENSE

Crowley raced out of blocks and showed great intensity and rocked Rabczak with a chopping right hand to the head in the opening minute of the scheduled six-round bout.

He continued to press his opponent and caught him with a combination of head and body shots.

Cathal started the second round again on the front foot and hurt his opponent again with another bruising left hook to the jaw and he followed up with an over-the-top right to the head that had Rabczak reeling on the ropes.

Crowley looked very focused and aggressive in the opening stages as he was cutting the ring down so Rabczak couldn’t get any respite.

Crowley surely meant business in this fight, as he came straight out for the third round raining down blows to Rabczak’s body and head.

In the second minute of the round Crowley sensed his opponent was in trouble as he continued to walk him down to connect with some big left hooks to the head.

The fourth round was very similar to the previous three with Crowley completely dominating Rabczak and by that stage, his opponent was complaining about his jaw being broken and the referee stopped the bout.

Cathal was delighted with his night’s work and he is now looking forward to get on the domestic scene early next year.

“I am absolutely delighted with my performance tonight, as I thought I looked very sharp,” Cathal said.

“I worked very hard in the past couple of months at my training camp in Dublin and that really showed tonight.

I knew I hurt him as early as the first round, however, I kept disciplined and didn’t dive in and just listened to my coaches in my corner.

"I just kept walking him down in every single round and caught him with some nice left hooks to the head. He started to complain about his jaw being broken at the end of the fourth round and the fight was stopped in his corner by the referee.

“My plans are to get on the domestic scene next year and fight for titles, however, the big fight I want is the winner of Emmett Brennan and Kevin Cronin after they fight in March."
