Lisgoold and Erin’s Own will have to do it all again after their Co-op SuperStores IAHC final ended all square at SuperValu Páirc Uí Chaoimh on Saturday.
In the end, it was probably a fair result as both sides had enjoyed their periods of dominance as it took a late point from Kieran Murphy for Erin’s Own to see it end level and take it to a replay.
Lisgoold got off to the perfect start when Mark Hegarty set up James O’Driscoll to find the back of the net after just 30 seconds.
Erin’s Own responded immediately from the restart with Kieran Murphy pointing and he set up Dara Twomey for their second to put one between the sides.
Cashman and Diarmuid Healy set up Hegarty for what looked like their second goal but Pat Fitzgerald blocked superbly to deny him a second green flag.
Liam O’Shea pointed the resulting 65 with Oran O’Regan on target for Erin’s Own to make it 1-1 to 0-3. With six minutes gone, Alan Bowen blocked John Cronin and after several passes found himself in on goal to make it 1-3 to 1-1.
O’Shea and Ronan Blackton exchanged scores before Lisgoold enjoyed their best spell of the half.

Izaak Walsh and Mark Hegarty both pointed to level it, with Jason Hegarty putting them back in front. O’Shea and Mark Hegarty added to their tally, to make it 1-7 to 1-4 in their favour after 17 minutes.
Tiernan Connell pulled a point back for Erin’s Own but points from Luke Walsh and Mark Hegarty kept Lisgoold in control.
Stephen Cronin scored for Erin’s Own before we had our first free after 25 minutes. John Cashman and Cormac Hallahan added to Lisgoold’s tally, with Kieran Cashman adding another, to make it 1-12 to 1-6.
But credit to Erin’s Own they finished the half strongly with two points from Cathal Lenihan, followed by one from Dara Twomey, to make it 1-12 to 1-9 at half-time.
A highly entertaining first half which saw 16 different scorers between the two sides and all to play for on the restart.
Just like Lisgoold did in the first half Erin’s Own got the perfect start to the second when Lenihan got their second goal to put the sides back on level terms.
Bowen put them in front after 33 minutes, the first score from a free, to make it 2-10 to 1-12.
John Cashman had the sides back on level terms after 37 minutes before they missed the chance to retake the lead, with a free from O’Shea going just wide.
Bowen pointed for his side to make it 2-11 to 1-13 after 40 minutes.

John Cashman had the chance to level it but his close-in free came back off the upright, before Mark Hegarty made no mistake, to make it 1-14 to 2-11.
Bowen put his side in front again and he added another from a free to put two between the sides, 2-13 to 1-14 after 53 minutes.
O’Shea pointed for Lisgoold and with seven minutes to go there was only one between them.
A superb free from Mark Hegarty had the sides level again before James O’Driscoll scored to put Lisgoold back in front, 1-17 to 2-13, with four minutes to go.
Diarmuid Healy increased their lead, before Bowen pointed another free, to put one between them again.
Deep into injury time, and just like he has done on many occasions, Kieran Murphy scored to level it and see them have to do it all again.
