Following the postponement of the four McCarthy Insurance Group Football Championship games scheduled for Sunday, the re-fixtures for those games have now been announced.

A status orange rain warning was issued for Cork on Friday night by Met Éireann and the board waited until Saturday evening to see if there would be any change before pulling the plug on the games.

Due to the Munster football championship deadline preceding the hurling equivalent, the football championship fixtures will be given priority for the remainder of the season.

The Premier SFC relegation play-off game between Carbery Rangers and Éire Óg was scheduled to be in Bandon on Sunday at 4pm, but that fixture will now take place next Saturday in Enniskeane at 4pm.

On the same day and at the same time, Gabriel Rangers and Mitchelstown head for Kilmurry for their IAFC quarter-final clash. The original game was down for Páirc Uí Rinn on Sunday at 2pm, as it will be a change for both sides now playing in the tighter surroundings of Kilmurry. Mitchelstown did play there last year when they beat Adrigole in the last four.

Next Sunday at 3.30pm in Bandon, Nemo Rangers and Clonakilty will be hoping the weather will be kind to them as they meet in the Premier SFC quarter-final. The teams locked horns at the same stage 12 months ago in Bandon when Nemo won on a scoreline of 0-5 to 0-4.

This game was originally part of an attractive double-header on Sunday with Carbery Rangers – Éire Óg, but both games now will be on their own.

Finally, also on Sunday with a throw-in time of 3.30pm, the Castle Grounds in Macroom is the venue for the Premier SFC quarter-final tie between Muskerry and Mallow. The Mid-Cork Division have already played there this season when they beat Duhallow in the final of the divisions/colleges section. They are at this stage for the first time since 2014 when they lost to the eventual winners Ballincollig.

It will take place in Carrigtwohill at 4pm on Saturday, October 12, if the city side lose to Clonakilty in the big ball.

Mallow were due to come up against Watergrasshill in the PIHC semi-final next Saturday, but that’s pushed back a week to Saturday, October 12 in Castletownroche at 4pm, but will depend on their footballers' progress.
