The Siam Warriors Cork Club is gearing up for another busy month at home and internationally when some of their best fighters will be in action.

They will kick off with their own home show event, the Siam Warriors Superfights at the Parochial Hall on Saturday, October 5th.

This will be one of Ireland’s biggest Muay-Thai cards and the event will be headlined with a massively exciting main fight with the explosive Toby (THE Weapon) Smith of Australia against Dylan Meagher of Clonmel.

Professional Muay-Thai fighting is unrivalled in combat sport at the moment, as it’s known for its pace and nonstop action, so this exciting fight should be an action-packed contest for all Muay-Thai fans.

Martin Horgan, who trains the Siam Warriors Club is really looking forward to the event at the Parochial Hall, however, he is equally excited about some upcoming fights for his world champions Ryan Sheehan, Aideen Mullins and Colm O’Mahony in the coming months.

“We at Siam Warriors Cork will be hosting a really exciting Muay-Thai event at the Parochial Hall next Saturday, October 5th and it will be full Thai rules action with Silver Series Titles on the line,” Martin said.

“Our U18 WBC Champions Colm O’Mahony and Aideen Mullins are now clocking up results in the adult divisions after having massive success as teenagers, and they are two of Ireland's hottest talents respectively.

"Nacim Yo, our resident French Assasin is back defending his title on the night where his fighting pace is unrivalled.

"We have one of our rising teenagers Mikey Stokes, who is just off a UK Sandee Open competition win in Bolton, and he will be also in action against Des Brennan and Colm O’Mahony will be in action against Slava Ibrahimov for Phoenix Gym Tralee.

"Douglas Quinlan is back in action also where he will come up against Marek Sandriksons."

Siam Warriors members will see the opening of their new dedicated gym area at Rock Steps Centre, Blarney Street, later this month and they will have a brand new kit-out of mats, a new boxing ring, and bags, that will be of huge benefit and will help add to their success.

"This is a huge boost to all their members as all the new equipment will help them prepare and train for all their upcoming fights.

“It's been a few years since we have our own gym area and we're delighted with the progress working with Rocksteps Centre.

“We have been producing champions for over 20 years, however, at the club also cater for those who are looking to get a great work out on the pads for fitness, which is a very worth while exercise routine while they are picking up all the skills of the art of Muay-Thai."

Ryan Sheehan, who is an Muay-Thai double world champion has been training with Siam Warriors Cork since he was a 12 year-old, and that was 15 years ago.

He has risen through the ranks like no other Irish fighter from junior champion to professional world Muay-Thai champion.

Sheehan has fought all over the world from USA, Japan, Thailand and even in Baghdad, Iraq.

He has beaten some of Thai Stadium champions who are the best of the best within the sport.

He also got called up for some huge events like ONE Championship Thailand.

“Ryan’s next stop is in Brisbanes Honour Muay-Thai League where he will defend his current 55kg ISKA Muay- Thai title against Australian Corey ( the nightmare) Nicholson on October 12th in Brisbane, Australia.

"Ryan only ever faces top tier world level fighters now and he is always in demand internationally for these big events.

"He has been really pushing the pace and is training harder than ever for this fight.

“Vienna in Austria is the next stop at the end of October for Aideen Mullins and she will be in an ISKA World Championship competition.

"Aideen stole the show at last year’s event in Munich, when she was competing in Muay-Thai, which allows the use of kicking, boxing, elbows, knees and K1 kick-boxing.

"She has double world championships wins in both disciplines to her name, which was a massive success for a teenager, stopping several of her opponents for two gold medals podium wins.

“We also have young Ukrainian, Miche Avtomieinko, who has been training with us since he arrived in Ireland over two years ago.

"He is a very dedicated youngster and will be travelling with Team Ireland for the same event looking to make his mark."
