Neptune Basketball Club boosted by the news that they received 424,508 towards the redevelopment of the Stadium from the government

Neptune basketball club were recently allocated 424,508 under the Community Sport Facilities Fund, formerly the Sports Capital and Equipment Programme.
This is a tremendous financial boost to the club and the money will be used towards the upgrade and redevelopment of a new sports floor, dressing rooms, toilets, storage and electrical upgrades.
Chairman of the club Tom O’Sullivan was delighted this morning when the club were informed of the good news that was greeted with elation by all concerned at the club.
“It is a significant day for basketball in general as it ensures we have a facility for everyone in Cork into the future,” O’Sullivan said.
The Neptune chairman also paid tribute to his development committee for the incredible work put into getting this grant.
“Our local TD’s and Councillor’s and our committee of Eamon O’Neill, Kieran Leahy, Jason O’Callaghan and Kevin Reddy put in hours of work and many thanks to each and every one of them for their commitment,” added O’Sullivan.

After the news filtered through from Dublin the club issued the following statement.
“We are thrilled to announce that our club has been awarded the Sports Capital Grant, which ensures the future of our beloved Neptune Stadium for generations to come.
“This significant funding allows us to continue our mission of fostering basketball talent and providing a top-tier facility for both Neptune players and the wider basketball community.
“Our gratitude extends to the previous committees whose dedication saw the successful completion of the stadium roof works, and to the very first Stadium Building Committee over 40 years ago, that had the foresight and dedication to build our wonderful Stadium we need have today.
“Many thanks to their incredible efforts and we can now move forward with essential internal redevelopment works, creating a space that will nurture the next generation of Neptune athletes and serve the needs of the entire basketball community and our local community of schools and colleges.”
A special thank you to the current Stadium Development Committee, including Eamon O'Neill, Kieran Leahy, Jason O'Callaghan, and Kevin Reddy. Their tireless work in preparing the grant application and navigating the lengthy process has made this dream a reality.

Neptune begin their Sup League basketball campaign under the leadership of Pat Price on Saturday when they make the long trip up north to face Star in their opening game of the new season.
