Blackrock 4-14 Seandún 1-8

Three first-half goals saw Blackrock advance to the SE Systems Senior Camogie quarter-final as they overcame a Seandún side lining out minus Amy O'Connor and the Mackey twins.

As a result, the Rockies now meet Sars, while it's Cloughduv v Courcey Rovers, Barrs-Inniscarra and Glen Rovers taking on Killeagh in the quarter-finals next weekend.

Cliona O'Callaghan had the ball in the net on 46 seconds from Hayley Ryan’s long delivery. She added a second three minutes later, along with a Ryan point, as Blackrock set the stone. Seandún were finding it hard to win possession though two Lauren Homan points had them on the scoreboard.

Erin Curtin grabbed a third Blackrock goal on 16 minutes as the club side were nine points ahead and controlling matters.

At half-time it was 3-3 to 0-4, Homan (2) and Juliet O'Keeffe pointing.

On the resumption, Seandún found it hard to make headway against a strong Blackrock defence and there was 11 between them with 10 minutes remaining.

Driven on by Homan, the divisional outfit won a penalty. Homan stepped up but Anna Kearney was equal to the challenge though Aine Ring finished the rebound to the net.

The celebrations were short-lived when Roisin De Faoite's long-range free deceived Amy Lee and ended up in the net and there was no way back.

The Rockies were in control with the wind to their backs over the closing stages, landing points from a variety of angles with O'Callaghan and Ryan finishing with 2-10 from play between them.

Seandún suffered in the absence of their big name players and Ring was their only scorer outside of Homan.
