Three-time All-Ireland medal winner Dónal Óg Cusack will serve as the Cork U20 hurling coach, following the ratification of the management team for the next two years.
Last month, Cork County Board announced that Noel Furlong, who led Cork to the 2021 All-Ireland MHC title, would succeed Ben O'Connor as U20 boss and that appointment was rubber-stamped at Tuesday night's monthly board meeting at SuperValu Páirc Uí Chaoimh.
Cusack, who was in goal for Cork's All-Ireland wins of 1999, 2004 and 2005 and served as county minor manager in 2020, had been among the contenders - along with Furlong - for the U20 job two years ago, prior to O'Connor's appointment. The Cloyne native is involved with Russell Rovers in the Co-op SuperStores Cork Premier JHC this year.
Also on the ticket as selectors are Seán Guiheen - a Na Piarsaigh clubman but currently in charge of Courcey Rovers in the SAHC - and Courceys' own Vincent Hurley, who is coaching Éire Óg in the Premier IHC, along with Tadhg Óg Murphy. A county SHC winner with Sarsfields, the former Cork panellist is currently coaching Premier JHC side St Catherine's while he managed Gaelcholáiste Mhuire an Mhainstir Thuaidh in the Dr Harty Cup last year.
