Cork City will face Derry City in the FAI Cup Third Round at Turner’s Cross and Wilton United will play Drogheda United at Weavers Park, with the games set to take place on the weekend ending 18th of August.
There are just two teams left in the competition from the Rebel County after Cobh Ramblers and five teams from the Munster Senior League were knocked last weekend.
Cork City qualified for the Third Round with a 1-0 victory over Finn Harps at Turner’s Cross.
The Rebel Army dominated that game and Malik Dijksteel hit the winner from outside the box at the end of the first half.
Tim Clancy and his players will now try and get to the quarter finals for the second consecutive season.
City managed to reach the semi-finals last year for the first time since 2018 and St Patrick’s Athletic ended their hopes of a day out at the Aviva Stadium by defeating them 2-0 at Turner’s Cross.

The Rebel Army last faced Derry in the cup in 2022 and they were beaten 2-0 at the Brandywell, with Will Patching and Sadou Diallo scoring for the home side.
Wilton United are the last team standing from the Munster Senior League after Carrigaline United, Leeds United, Cobh Wanderers, Midleton, and Ringmahon Rangers were knocked out over the weekend.
Wilton got that far in the competition by defeating Carrigaline United 2-1 at Ballea Park, with Ireoluwa Olajitan scoring the winning goal at the start of the second half.
This followed a chaotic first half that ended with Rob Walker equalising for the home side after Cian McCarthy rolled the ball in.
Wilton are now in the Third Round after they recorded another big win in a knock-out competition in 2024.
This follows a penalty shoot-out victory last January over Cork City in the Round of 16 of the Munster Senior Cup, a result that set up a meeting with Waterford FC in the quarter finals.
The carrot now for Wilton is that they can join an exclusive club if they make it to the quarter finals.
Rockmount made it to that stage of the competition in 2004 and Avondale United replicated that achievement in 2014.
The cup is wide open this year as just one of the last four teams to have won the competition progressed to the Third Round over the weekend.
The biggest results of the round was Bohemians’ 1-0 victory over league champions Shamrock Rovers and Derry City ending St Pats’ FAI Cup defence at the Brandywell.
Ballyfermot United v Wexford FC, Cork City v Derry City, Drogheda United v Wilton United, Shelbourne v Galway United, Treaty United v Pike Rovers, Kerry FC v Bohemians, Sligo Rovers v UCD, Waterford v Athlone Town.
