THE Cork Youth Leagues finished last weekend and their Fixture Secretary, James Fogarty and the rest of their committee are delighted how the season went.
This year they were over a 100 different teams that played in some very competitive League and Cup competitions.
“We are all delighted to have the season finished up and on time in order to give all of the players enough time to plan and study for upcoming exams,” James said.
“With over 100 teams playing across 11 Leagues we need to thank all the clubs, committee members, referees and players for making this possible.
“We had some really exciting finishes across almost all of our League Divisions this season, however, every League competition was very competitive.
“In the U18 league, Douglas Hall won the Premier Division in the second last game and College Corinthians finished runners up.

"Corinthians also had a superb season by securing the JOTA Ireland Munster youth Cup for the first time in their history.
"The U18 League 1, that came down to a last game of the season play-off between Mallow United and Kinsale, with Mallow winning on the day to clinch the title."
Passage were deserved winners of the U18 League 1A with Lakewood finishing runners up.
Mallow, Kinsale, Passage and Lakewood have now all been promoted to Premier for next season.
Buttevant proved too strong in the U18 League 2 and were deserved winners with a few games to spare.
“In the U17 Premier league, the top four teams all had a chance to win it with four games to play, but once again Douglas Hall ended up League Champions with College Corinthians runners up.
"The U17 League 1 title race had a thrilling end to the season, when Passage took on second place Rockmount in the last game of the season. "Passage came out strong winners in that encounter to win the League title, however, with Lakewood beating Rockmount the week earlier it meant both Passage and Lakewood will be playing Premier Division next season.
"In the U17 League 1A, Carrigtwohill pipped Ballincollig to the League title with again both clubs being promoted to the Premier Division next season.
"The U17 League 2, was won be Midleton with two games to spare as they only lost two games all season with Mogeely taking the runners up spot."
Macroom pipped Lakewood to the U17 League 3 after a late surge where they won League on last game of the season.
“The U19 League 1 saw the most dramatic finish where we had as three teams were all fighting for the League title on the last day of the season. "Bandon were finished with Ringmahon and Midleton playing to join them on 31 points.
"Ringmahon were the victor in the last game of the season, so the league was decided following a play-off.
"Ringmahon then played Bandon in St Colman's Park and won the League title which they added to their League Cup title, to complete a great season for them.
"The U19 League 1A was won comfortably by Watergrasshill who went the season unbeaten.
“It was a great season for all as we had over 100 clubs in the league, 2000 players playing football and over 700 games across all leagues and cups so we all can look forward to the break but cant wait to be back next September,” James added.
