First-half assists from puck-outs for Harnedy and Fitzgibbon and good handling. The second half however saw him send far too many passes into Clare hands.
Carried on from Waterford, tackling tenaciously. Forced into conceding a yellow to prevent a goal chance though and then picked up an absolutely needless red, which left Cork chasing shadows.
Took a bit to settle. Started using his size and aerial prowess but then Cork were down to 14 and the last 25 minutes were fierce difficult.
Justified his recall by hurling from the front and setting up two first-half points. Under savage later on, but Cork were in huge trouble out the field and the full-back line suffered.
Deployed to match Peter Duggan in the air. Did well initially, lacing over a point and had a good start to the second half, with two assists, but struggled in the last quarter.

Smashed over a super score and thundered up to lay on a few goal chances after the break. Clare then started bypassing him and Cork weren't as solid as a consequence.
Kept tabs on David Fitzgerald for long spells and matched him physically, though when Clare were a man up, Fitzgerald plundered 1-1. Buried a goal late on.
Heavily involved in the first 20 minutes, fouled for two converted frees. Went out of the game but a solid debut.
Two soaring points and two assists, but didn't connect properly with a terrific goal opportunity.
Excellent for 45 minutes and made way when Cork were down to 14. Leadership and ball-winning were missed.
Operating from centre-forward but caused John Conlon problems with his movement and skill. Faded in the second half.
Bombed over four points from range but David McInerney got a grip and Cork turned to Robbie O'Flynn, which didn't work.
Set up a Connolly point and worked hard as a foil but not the third inside threat Cork needed.
Again didn't get a lot of possession but had two points, one of which could have been a goal, and was fouled for two frees.
Curled a beauty from play, finished his two goals brilliantly, was fouled for 0-3 and did his best to rally Cork when others were losing their heads coming down the stretch.
Introduced after 48 minutes but didn't find his rhythm with Clare dominating the central battleground.
Came on for Dalton but unable to secure puck-outs as his rustiness from the injuries showed.
Brought in as a link-man after 53 minutes, just couldn't get his hands on the sliotar.
Grabbed a point but only given 15 minutes.
On late.
