Mixed his long and short kick-outs effectively and hit his targets more often than not.
DANIEL O’MAHONY: Had the thankless task of marking David Clifford, which he did exceptionally well considering he was often isolated on him.

The Kingdom talisman finished with 0-4 but O’Mahony won his share of duels.
Was asked to curb Seanie O’Shea, Kerry’s other marquee scoring threat. Kept at it.
Ran himself into the ground before limping off with 10 minutes to go.
Tidy display, especially on the ball, but didn’t seem to have the license to bomb up as much as he did in the league.
Solid first half but was forced off through injury coming up to the break.
Two assists for Hurley points, one after picking off a pass, and nailed a classy score of his own. Raided upfield time and again.
Had his fingerprints on 1-2 in the opening half, where his direct running and composure was telling.
A real leader to the end.
His size and strength ensured Kerry couldn’t get an early grip at midfield.
Took his early goal well but was primarily deployed as a worker and ball-winner from his wing-forward berth. Consistent throughout.
Switched between 11 and sweeping, and in the opening period was fouled for two frees. Replaced 10 minutes into the second half when it seemed like he’d more to give.
Like Walsh, Maguire and Taylor, covered every blade of grass. Tackled with intensity.
Fired a first-half point that could have been a goal; lively but policed doggedly by Paul Murphy.
Gave Tadhg Morley plenty of it, securing the majority of the possession sent in and hitting 0-4 from play.
Converted some testing frees as well. A reminder of his brilliance over the years.
Set the tone with the opening point and was dangerous on the front foot, though he fired a couple of wides.
Spent too much of the game tracking Tom O’Sullivan to cut loose fully. More to come in the Sam Maguire series.
Came in before half-time for the injured Shanley and slotted in seamlessly.
Added experience after Powter emptied the tank.
Last quarter replacement for Jones.
Brought on to liven up the attck.
Replaced Tommy Walsh in the closing stages.
