THE Clona Milk Carbery U21 A football championship semi-final between Carbery Rangers and Ibane Gaels will be replayed.

The last four encounter was played in Enniskeane on Sunday, December 3. There was confusion at the full-time whistle when both clubs, who were doing updates on the match on twitter (now known as X), had the score at 0-9 to 0-8 in favour of Carbery Rangers, but the referee Michael Collins said it was a draw and extra time was played which Ibane Gaels won on a scoreline of 1-12 to 0-13.

The official Carbery GAA twitter account even had the final result as a win for the Rosscarbery outfit. Carbery Rangers appealed the result 48 hours after the game but it was rejected by the CCC of the Carbery Board. Ross were deeply unhappy and appealed Carbery’s CCC’S decision to County Board level.

Following last night’s hearing in Páirc Uí Chaoimh, the CCC of the County Board have ordered the Carbery Board to replay the semi-final tie, with Newcestown awaiting the winners in the decider.

The re-fixture will take place this Saturday in Enniskeane at 2.30pm.
