Hospitals end Doolan’s Cow long unbeaten run in Cork Business League

Cork Hospitals who finally ended Champions Doolan’s Cow’s long unbeaten league run following their 3-2 win in the CBL Premier Division at the Farm last Sunday

CHAMPIONS Doolan’s Cow’s long unbeaten league run, stretching back to 2018 in the CBL Premier Division and taking in over 57 matches was finally ended by Cork Hospitals at The Farm last Sunday afternoon.

It looked like it was going to be business as usual as the visitors stormed into a two-nil half-time lead courtesy of Jamie Murphy and James Cotter. 

However, three unanswered from Tadhg Whelan, Conor O’Halloran and sub Marc O’Connor swung the contest in Hospitals’ favour and sealed a fourth successive league win.

UCC United 3 

Satellite Taxis 3 

 Satellite were held to a 3-3 draw when the sides last met in the league at Deerpark back in April. 

It was a similar offering last Sunday morning at the Farm with Gokan Dumlupinar, an own goal and Paul Murphy on the mark for ten man UCC cancelling out goals from Mohamed Vangahun (2) and Alex Cummins for Satellite.

 Ross O’Sullivan, Kenneth St Leger and James Corcoran scored for Harvey’s at Mayfield Park.

Arc Rovers 1 

Leaders Jay Bazz notched up an impressive fifth win in six over promoted Arc Rovers at Mayfield Community School last Friday night. 

Goals from Michael Coffey and Adam Hegarty sent the hosts in 2-1 up at the break, Ian Leahy on target for Arc, before Hegarty ,again, Darren Nugent and Alex O’Driscoll added further goals in the second 45. 

Hegarty, O’Driscoll and Rory Murphy shone for the winners.

CBL First Division 

OBS 5

Cork County Council 1 

OBS picked up a much needed win over Council at Crosshaven. Sean Buckley (2) and Sean Blake scored in the opening half for the in-form hosts. 

After Council pulled one back through Jason Condon having being set up by Barry Kelly with twenty minutes remaining, Ian O’Sullivan and Rory Buckley punished the visitors with further goals to complete a deserved victory. 

In an overall eye catching performance by the hosts, the Maher brothers, Lee and Mark, along with Sean Buckley, Sean Blake, Shane Barry and Ross Drummond were the stand out performers for UCC.

Fisherman’s Rest Valley Rangers 0

Longboats 0 

Valley Rangers and Longboats played out an entertaining draw at Conna despite there being no goals to register only the second in the division since the season began back on Saturday, September 9th.

Goalkeeper Ryan O’Neill, Steve Donovan, Jaquin Almeida and Cian Doyle played well for the home side.

Marlboro Trust 1

SCS Crookstown United 4 

Crookstown inflicted a third consecutive defeat on Marlboro to cement their top o0f the table position with a 4-1 win. 

Jason McDonnell headed the opener for the visitors in the 9th minute before adding a second three minutes later. 

Flavin Petit reduced the deficit on the twenty minute mark only for Jonathan Buckley to fire in a blistering free-kick on the stroke of half-time. 

The versatile Martin O’Sullivan tapped in the fourth in the 55th minute to seal the win AND avenge the three-nil defeat suffered earlier in the campaign.

Helio Inter Cork 3

VIP Carrigaline Town 1 

Helio made it five out of five with first-half goals from Marcao Aurelio and Pablo Duffort and a third from Gabriel Cerini in the 65th minute who notched his 14th of the campaign.

CBL Second Division 

Swyft Energy 3

Croatia Fermoy 2 

Rob Twomey’s Swyft maintained their 100% record to register an eight straight victory a 3-2 win over Croatia Fermoy. 

Alex O’Sullivan edged the hosts in front from a free-kick in the 25th minute only for Karlo Brisevac to equalize from a spectacular effort on the hour. 

William Kavanagh’s deft control and dipping volley restored Swyft’s lead before Ian Kent added a third in the 75th minute. 

Jin Minyou pulled one back for the visitors with three minutes remaining.

RFP Masseytown United 5

Curry House Hungry Tigers 0 

James O’Connor (2), Jack Kearney, John Martin Lehane and Michael Horgan bagged the goals in United’s win over Curry House at Mayfield Park last Saturday afternoon.

The Weigh Inn Dripsey 3

Frame Up FC 2 

The Weigh Inn kept in touch with the chasing pack with a third home win. 

Despite being on top in the opening 45, the hosts eventually found the net through Ronan Keane and James Deasy only for Lorcan Clinton and James Flannery to pull Frame Up level by the 80th minute. 

However, Jamie Slavin got on the end of a cross to net a late winner.

Evcore 2 

NetApp1 

Evcore, following a couple of recent losses, recorded the double over NetApp after their best of three goal encounter at Mayfield Park. 

A Mark Hourigan header was followed by a penalty from top scorer Wayne Buckley. Alberto Ruiz replied for the visitors.
