THIS weekend in the Cork Youth Leagues, we have a host of FAI U17 and FAI Youth National Cup games to look forward too, however, there are still important Daly Industrial Supplies League games down for decision across all divisions.
Starting with tomorrow morning, U19 League 1A leaders Watergrasshill United must make the short trip to Mayfield Community School to play third placed Riverstown at 11am, while elsewhere Youghal United will be hoping to get their first points of the season when they travel to Ovens to take on the hosts Lakewood Athletic with a 6pm kickoff.
The big game in the U19 League 1 is the clash between inform Rockmount and Ringmahon Rangers who sit in second place in the table with nine points from three games at the Farm at 11am.
The pick of the games in the FAI U17 National Cup is Carrigaline United hosting College Corinthians at Ballea Park at 7pm — the visitors will start favourites to make it into the next round as they beat Carrig earlier in the U17 Premier League, however, with home advantage on their side this could be a totally different encounter.
Elsewhere, Midleton should have too much firepower for League 1 outfit Passage at Knockgriffen, while Mallow Town entertain Everton at the Cork Racecourse, both games with a 1pm kickoff.
The only game in the U17 Premier League is the clash between Innishvilla and Kinsale at Jake O’ Donoghue Park.
The Cork Youth game of the week is the U17 League 1 local derby game between Blarney United and St Mary’s at O’Shea Park, with a 4.30pm kick-off.
St Mary’s have won two of the three games they played so far and will be eager to continue their good form, however, Blarney are always a difficult side to play on their own patch.
Two sides who are in flying form in this Division are Lakewood Athletic and Rockmount with both side unbeaten after two games. However, all that could change tomorrow evening when they meet each other at Ovens at 4.30pm.
CRUNCH
On Sunday, there are a number of FAI Youth National Cup games to be decided and the game that really stands out is the meeting between Rockmount and Ringmahon Rangers at Rockmount Park.
With both these side playing very well its a very different game to call, however, the Mahon side have a very strong squad and just might shade it.
Elsewhere, in the same competition Mallow United entertain Blarney United at St Mary’s School and U18 Premier League Leaders Douglas Hall should prove too strong when they travel to Clonakilty to play the hosts.
In the U18 League 1, Kinsale host Watergrasshill at Madden Park, while Riverstown host Mallow United at the GACA both games with a 2pm kickoff. Second placed in the U18 League 1A, Mogeely will want to build on the 3-2 win when they play Lakewood Athletic at 7pm.
