Adult education courses start back in Bishopstown

As we head towards the end of September, thoughts turn to events in the autumn.

To keep you busy in the coming months adult education evening courses return to Bishopstown Community School, with a variety of options over the week.

For this term, classes will run on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday nights.

On Monday night classes will include salsa dancing for beginners, a masterclass in sushi course and photography for beginners.

Tuesday classes include charcoal still life drawing, a couch to 3k course and a badminton beginner course.

Other courses on that night include scrabble club, continential knitting and the very popular Irish sign language for beginners course.

On Wednesday, there is an afternoon bridge course, as well as an evening one and also an afternoon Spanish class.

There will also be a chair yoga class, designed for all ages, this class offers the benefits of traditional yoga without needing to get down on the floor.

For those with a bit more energy there will be a Zumba dance class, with easy to follow dance steps to create a fitness experience that feels like a night out with friends.

There will also be a hand building potter class, where you won’t need a pottery wheel, just your own hands to make functional and colourful pieces for your home.

For those who would like to know more about cooking, there is a masterclass in sushi course where you can add a new dimension to your culinary skills. Learn the basics of rolling to the skilled aspects of temperature in this class.

Another new course on Wednesday nights is the book club one, where it will give you the perfect excuse to turn off the screens and dive deep into iconic and great stories. Please note this course is free.

Most classes start at 6.30 or 7pm and range in cost from €30 to €80.

Most courses are due to start during the week commencing on Monday, September 23, and all are welcome.
