Man facing changes relating to Cork School of Music burglary remanded in custody 

The School of Music was the scene for an early-hours burglary last month, and now a 40-year-old man facing charges in relation to the incident has been remanded in custody.

Joseph O’Sullivan of Cork Simon Community appeared at Cork District Court in relation to the case.

Sgt Gearóid Davis said no directions were yet available from the DPP.

Sgt Davis said the defendant allegedly entered MTU Cork School of Music on Union Quay by damaging a door and entering the property before 2am on August 23.

Arising out of those allegations, he faces criminal damage and burglary charges.

He faces two other charges, namely trespassing at Tesco Express, Douglas Rd, the previous day after 11pm, and earlier that same night, August 22, he is charged with the theft of a bottle of vodka at the same store.

Judge David Waters remanded the accused in custody until September 21.
