Emerging and established artists invited to apply for Cork gallery showcase opportunity 

Cork County Council’s arts office has made an open call for submissions to the LHQ Gallery winter exhibition 2026.

The annual Winter Exhibition will run at LHQ Gallery on Carrigrohane Rd, Cork, from November to December 2026, providing a platform for emerging and established artists to showcase their work.

Applications are now open and will close on September 27. 

Artists working across all disciplines are encouraged to submit work that is small to medium in scale, with a maximum size of A2.

Works should be produced within the last five years, including two-dimensional works such as painting, photography, printmaking, drawing, and mixed media; three-dimensional works including ceramics, sculpture, textiles, and artist books; as well as multimedia works.

Mayor of the County of Cork, Bernard Moynihan, said: “Cork County Council is committed to supporting artists at every stage of their creative journey.

“Opportunities such as the LHQ Gallery winter exhibition are vital in providing artists with a professional platform to present their work, connect with audiences, and contribute to the vibrant cultural landscape of County Cork.”

The exhibition is open to artists who are from County Cork or currently reside in the county. 

Artists may submit one or two works for consideration and all selected works must be delivered in person by the artist or their representative.

Cork County Council’s arts office takes no commission on sales, and all sales enquiries received during the exhibition will be directed to artists directly.
