Cork businesses invited to host Marymount coffee morning

Cork businesses are invited to host a coffee morning this month help raise vital funds for Marymount.

Marymount University Hospital and Hospice, which provides specialist palliative care and long-term care for older people, are asking Cork businesses to host a coffee morning on or near Thursday, September 24.

The callout is part of the national coffee morning for hospice event – now in its 33rd year, an annual fundraiser that takes place across Ireland and has raised more than €43.2m.

Businesses who would like to host an event can register online or by calling Marymount on (021) 4869100. A spokesperson for Marymount thanked Cork businesses already on board, and said: “We’d love to see even more Cork businesses join us this September.

“Every donation from the coffee morning campaign goes directly towards enabling us to deliver complex hospice care — whether onsite, in acute hospitals, or in homes throughout Cork and Kerry.

“Your generosity helps fund nurse specialist roles, the purchase of essential clinical equipment, and many other vital initiatives. This support helps ensure that patients and families receive the highest standard of comfort, care, and compassion during their time with us.

“On behalf of our patients, families, and staff, thank you sincerely for your continued kindness and support — it is sincerely appreciated.”

The Marymount spokesperson added that after 15 years of support, Bewley’s are no longer involved as a sponsor of this national Together for Hospice campaign.

“We are incredibly grateful for their generosity and commitment over the years, which helped make countless coffee mornings possible across the country,” they said.

However, Marymount has a supply of coffee available for those who may require additional support to make their coffee morning possible – anyone who requires this should get in touch.
