A man has been hospitalised following an alleged assault in Cork city centre.

A man has been hospitalised following an alleged assault in Cork city centre.

The incident, which occurred at approximately 9.45pm on Monday, took place in Blackpool.

Speaking to The Echo, a spokesperson for An Garda Síochána said that gardaí attended the scene following reports of an alleged assault.

A man, aged in his 30s, was taken from the scene to Cork University Hospital for treatment of injuries believed to be non-life-threatening at this time.

The garda spokesperson confirmed that an investigation into the alleged assault has since been launched, with enquiries “ongoing”.
