Gardaí appeal for witnesses following fatal road traffic collision in North Cork
Gardaí in North Cork are appealing for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision that occurred on Sunday morning on the N73 Mallow to Dublin Road at Kildorrery.
The single-vehicle collision occurred at around 7.25am.
The driver, a woman in her 20s who was the lone occupant of the car, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
A garda spokesperson said her body has been removed to the local mortuary where a post-mortem examination will take place in due course.
"The coroner has been notified," said the spokesperson.
The N73 road is currently closed between Kildorrery Village and the R522 for a technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.
Local diversions are in place.
Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward.
"Road users who may have camera footage, including dash-cam, who were travelling in the area of the N73 Mallow-Dublin road at Kildorrery between 7am and 7.30am on Sunday, June 7, are asked to make this footage available to investigating gardaí," said the spokesperson.
"Anyone with any information is asked to contact Fermoy Garda Station on 025 82100, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any garda station."
