Water Technology Ltd joined forces with Togher Tidy Towns to clean-up their local area and found some interesting objects in the process.

Traffic cones and parts of a PlayStation were among the hidden litter items uncovered by a community group cleaning up an area of the south city recently, in a unique initiative which saw them partner with staff of a local business.

Tyres, vapes, bottles and clothes were also among the many objects found as Togher Tidy Towns and staff from local firm Water Technology Ltd joined forces to clean up a local stream and an industrial area of the suburb.

The aim of the community collaboration was to remove rubbish, and cut back hedges and weed areas surrounding the Togher Industrial Estate, where Water Technology Ltd is based. In total, 15 members of the local firm took part with the clean-up, and some waded through the nearby Liberty Stream to locate discarded items from the water.

Carolyn Miller, of Togher Tidy Towns, has praised the efforts of all involved. “Well done to Water Technology staff and management on a fantastic job clearing a section of our beautiful river walk. We were under the careful eye of a stunning heron to make sure we did a proper job,” she said.
