Cork Airport is set to welcome 69,000 passengers this June bank holiday weekend as four popular summer routes restart and an additional Spanish service is also set to kick in.

The busiest days of the coming weekend will be Friday May 29, and Monday, June 1, when Aer Lingus will also commence its service to Santiago de Compostela in northern Spain.

This week will also see the restart of four busy Ryanair summer routes from Cork — to Carcassonne, La Rochelle, Rhodes, and Zadar. All four services will operate twice weekly for the summer and into the early autumn.

Niall MacCarthy, managing director at Cork Airport, said that the airport is ready for the busy weekend’s influx of passengers.

“As post-primary schools finish for the summer, we’re looking forward to welcoming lots of families from across the south of Ireland and beyond as they head off on their well deserved holidays,” he said.

“Despite our ongoing large-scale construction works, our team are still providing the same friendly, easy, smooth travel experience.”
