Man arrested after brandishing a knife at Cork beach

A man was arrested after brandishing a knife at Loughbeg beach today

A man has been arrested after brandishing a knife at a busy beach in Cork today.

The incident happened at Loughbeg Beach in Ringaskiddy.

It is understood that the man was under the influence of alcohol at the time.

A spokesperson for An Garda Síochána confirmed that members of the force responded to the incident at approximately 4.30pm.

Gardaí also confirmed that no injuries were reported.
