A stolen car was driven dangerously in Cork city until gardaí managed to block it in and arrest the driver — these were the allegations made at Cork District Court in the case against 21-year-old Aaron Kepple of Farranasha, Whitechurch, Co Cork.

Judge Catherine Ryan released the young man on bail to appear at Cork District Court again on May 28.

Among his conditions of bail are for him to keep a 10pm until 6am curfew and sign three times a week at Gurranabraher garda station, reside at an apartment at Farranasha, Whitechurch, and provide gardaí with a mobile number at which he can be contactable at all times.

Garda Killian O’Connell outlined the circumstances that gave rise to the man being charged with driving a stolen car and dangerous driving.

Garda O’Connell said the Volkswagen was stolen at Hollyhill Heights in Cork on May 12 and it was observed being driven at MacCurtain St. The driver attempted to evade gardaí but they managed to block him in.

It was alleged that Aaron Kepple was seen getting out of the driver’s seat of the stolen car and he was arrested at the scene.
