Compensation of €2,800 has been gathered by a man facing sentencing for assault causing harm to another man at a building site in Ballincollig in December 2022.

Defence barrister Paula McCarthy asked at Cork Circuit Criminal Court for sentencing to be adjourned so that further compensation could be raised by the accused.

State solicitor Frank Nyhan said there was no objection to the case going back for sentencing for that reason. Mr Nyhan said that the probation report on the accused was positive.

Adrian Murray (32) of 3 Courtown Park, Knocknaheeny, Cork, admitted the charge brought under Section 3 of the Non-Fatal Offences Against the Person Act which states that on December 6, 2022, at Great Island, Ballincollig, Cork, he assaulted another man causing him harm.

Judge Helen Boyle adjourned sentencing to November 19.
