A fourth-year student from University College Cork (UCC) has been recognised for outstanding entrepreneurial skills at the Cork University Business School 'Leaders of Tomorrow' awards.

The awards, which were held recently in UCC, aim to recognise exceptional students who demonstrate leadership, innovation, academic excellence, and entrepreneurial ambition across a range of disciplines.

Jack Kelleher, who is completing a bachelor's degree in business information systems, received the Outstanding Achievement Award in Innovation and Entrepreneurship for his luxury retail e-commerce business, Luxselle.

The award intends to highlight Mr Kelleher’s commercial success and his innovative approach to combining technology, AI, and a modern e-commerce strategy within the luxury retail sector.

Mr Kelleher said he was honoured to receive recognition from the Cork University Business School and credited the business information systems programme for helping develop the commercial and technical foundations behind the business.

Mr Kelleher was presented with the award by Tadhg Nagle, co-director of the BSc business information systems programme and a senior lecturer at UCC.

Founded while still studying at UCC, Luxselle specialises in curated luxury retail and resale products, operating through a deliberately lean and AI-enabled business structure.

The company successfully raised €100,000 in funding and generated more than €20,000 in revenue within its first six weeks of operation.
