Man accused of stealing cosmetics and vitamins in Cork

Thousands of euro worth of cosmetics, vitamins and hair-loss products were allegedly stolen in three shoplifting incidents at pharmacies in Cork by the same man and now the accused has been remanded in custody until May 6.

Elvis Dulea, aged 49, of Mirea Mioara Luiza Nr, Bucresti, Romania, appeared at Cork District Court.

He allegedly stole €2,869 worth of cosmetics and health supplements from Sam McCauley pharmacy at Blackpool Shopping Centre.

Forty boxes of vitamin tablets and several bottles of hair-loss products, with a total value of €1,920, were allegedly stolen by him at Boots Pharmacy at Mahon Point Shopping Centre.

He is charged with going to another Boots Pharmacy – at Half Moon Street – and stealing €1,100 worth of cosmetics.

The same man is charged with stealing more than €1,500 worth of clothing from Premier Building Solutions at Pouladuff Road.

The last two shoplifting charges relate to €300 worth of property at JD Sports on Patrick St and one more count related to Sam McCauley’s where the alleged theft was of nine tubes of Lash mascaras and five bottles of vitamins valued €320.

All charges relate to a period between August 2025 and March this year.

On the application of Sergeant Gearóid Davis, Judge Mary Dorgan remanded Elvis Dulea in custody until May 6 to allow time for directions to be obtained from the Director of Public Prosecutions.
