Gardaí are now appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward.

A male in his late teens has died following a road traffic incident at Little Island on Friday.

Gardaí attended the scene of the fatal incident shortly before midnight on Friday night after receiving a report that a pedestrian has been struck by a car.

The pedestrian, a male aged in his late teens was taken from the scene to Cork University Hospital. He has since passed away.

Forensic Collision investigators attended the scene following the incident and a detailed examination was undertaken

Gardaí are now appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward.

"Road users who may have camera footage, including dash-cam footage and were travelling in the area between 11pm and midnight on Friday, April 17, are asked to make this available to investigating gardaí" said a garda spokesperson
