Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist Dr. David O’Driscoll is one of the speakers at the 'Meet the Experts' event.

ADHD Ireland Cork is hosting its second ‘Meet the Experts’ evening at the Metropole Hotel on April 23.

The event aims to provide a practical and evidence-based understanding of ADHD in children and adolescents.

It will also offers attendees an opportunity to hear directly from clinicians working with ADHD in real world settings.

There will be a panel discussion featuring clinicians working within Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) in Cork.

The panel will feature consultant child and adolescent psychiatrist Dr David O’Driscoll and advanced nurse practitioner Kathryn Hallahan.

The evening will also include short presentations followed by a moderated Q&A. Questions should be general in nature and the panel will not comment on individual cases.

ADHD is a neurodevelopmental difference affecting approximately 5% of the population, which leads to challenges in organisation, focus, and self regulation.

Cork ADHD Ireland service development manager Martin Finn said: “This is really about helping people understand ADHD a bit better from the people working with it every day.

“We meet a lot of parents who just aren’t sure where to start, and there’s still a lot of confusion around it. The idea is to give people something clear and practical they can take away.”

The event will take place on Thursday, April 23, at 7.30pm in the ballroom of the Metropole Hotel. It is open to parents, educators, and anyone supporting a child with ADHD.

Tickets for the event are available for €10 on Eventbrite.
