Met Éireann has issued a fresh weather warning for Cork and Kerry with the counties set for a weekend washout.
The two counties will be under a status yellow wind and rain warning from midday on Saturday until 8pm.
Met Éireann warned there will be "very strong and gusty southwesterly winds, along with squally heavy showers or longer spells of rain and a chance of hail and thunder".
The potential impacts include:
- Difficult travelling conditions;
- Spot flooding;
- Some fallen trees and branches;
- Debris, loose objects displaced.
More generally, Saturday will be sunny to start in the east and northeast before showers become widespread in the afternoon. Met Éireann said there will be "blustery heavy showers" with embedded hail and some thunderstorms too.
Sunday will be "another breezy and blustery day with a mix of sunny spells and scattered showers".
Met Éireann says that some of the showers will be heavy "and there is a chance of hail".
