Cork indie musical duo and punk poets Wasps vs Humans have announced an upcoming gig.

Cork indie musical duo and punk poets Wasps vs Humans have announced an upcoming gig on home turf in collaboration with Dundalk punk poet, Jinx Lennon.

The gig, taking place at Cyprus Avenue in Cork city on April 11, from 7pm, comes in the wake of the band’s latest single, ‘My Country’s Like A Broken Pen’, which will be released the day prior.

The song, which is the second single from Wasps vs Humans new album, ‘The Day Homo Sapiens Destroyed The Earth’, is described by the artists as an uplifting yet confrontational soundtrack for “a country unravelling”.

“‘My Country’s Like A Broken Pen’ is an anthemic state-of-the-nation rallying cry,” they said. “Progress has never felt so hollow, like the broken pen abandoned in a drawer — the system no longer works, yet we’re still expected to write our future with it.” The husband and wife duo will be joined on the night by underground artist Jinx Lennon. Tickets for the upcoming event are priced from €17 are available for purchase here: https://www.cyprusavenue.ie.
