Fota Wildlife Park is recruiting staff for the summer, the busy season.

The park is hosting an event on April 14 to recruit enthusiastic and customer-focused people to join the team for the busy weekends and summer ahead.

Applicants can now complete a screening form to attend this event.

The deadline to submit the application is 3pm on April 6.

The wildlife park is recruiting for seasonal roles in admissions, the gift shop, kiosk, and ice-cream unit, as well as general maintenance, park upkeep, facility cleaning, litter management, and car parking.

The ideal candidates will have a friendly manner, an interest in working with the public in a family environment, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a flexible and proactive approach to work, and weekend and summer availability.

Previous experience in retail sales, customer service, or as a general operative is advantageous.

Successful candidates must also be available to attend the mandatory training and induction weekend on May 9 and 10, as well as throughout the peak season.

ANIMALS

These roles do not involve direct interactions with animals.

Shortlisted candidates will receive an official email invitation with full event details, including venue and timing.

Attendance is strictly by invitation only, and is only confirmed upon receiving an official email invitation, after submitting the screening form.

In January, a park spokesperson said visitor numbers had increased 50% compared to the same time last year, following its reopening after a 10-week closure due to a bird-flu outbreak.
