Parts of the heartland of Cork city’s northside may suffer overnight water supply disruptions this week, Uisce Éireann has warned.

The water utility company said meter installation works in the Blarney St and Shandon areas are scheduled to begin at 11.30pm tomorrow night, running until 3.30am the following morning, April 1.

Uisce Éireann warned that there is likely to be some disruption to local water supplies as a result of the works.

According to the company, the works, which are part of its National Leakage Reduction Programme, may cause overnight supply disruptions to Blarney St, Buckleys Terrace, North Mall, Old Market Place, Rock Steps, Rock Villas, Shandon St, Shandon Place, Cathedral St, Roman St, Eason’s Avenue, Church St, O'Connell Square, Dominick St, Old Friary Place, John Redmond St, Rowland’s Lane, Quarry Lane, Boylans Lane and surrounding areas in Cork city.

Uisce Éireann said it recommended that the public should allow two to three hours after the estimated restoration time for water supply to fully return.

To access updates on these works, the public is invited to visit the Uisce Éireann website, water.ie, and for Monday’s works, enter in the search bar the reference: CCI00109168.
