Cork business expands as retailer opens new store in Mallow

Maxi Zoo is expanding its presence in Cork with the opening of a new store in Mallow.

Irish pet retailer Maxi Zoo has expanded its presence in Cork with the opening of a store in Mallow.

The outlet increases the number of Maxi Zoo stores across Cork to six and nationally to 35.

Founded in Ballincollig in 2006, Maxi Zoo has grown to become one of Ireland’s largest speciality pet retailers, employing a total of 400 people across 17 counties.

The company also has stores in Blackpool, Turner’s Cross, Mahon, and Midleton.

Country manager of Maxi Zoo Ireland Enrico DeLuca said: “Mallow is a fantastic location for us and we’re really looking forward to welcoming local pet owners through our doors.

“We’re especially excited to bring our pet friendly shopping experience to the area and to become part of the local community.” 

The new Maxi Zoo store officially opened on Thursday March 26, with a family friendly opening weekend to take place from April 2 to April 4.
