Met Éireann has issued a status yellow wind warning for all of Ireland including Cork.

The national forecaster, which issued the warning yesterday evening, said all 26 counties can expect strong and gusty south-westerly winds during the latter half of this week.

The warning will come into effect from midnight on Wednesday and will remain in place until 6pm on Thursday.

Potential impacts include difficult travelling conditions, debris or displaced loose objects and some fallen branches or trees.

A small craft warning for all coasts of Ireland, issued on Sunday, will also remain in place until midnight on Wednesday.

Met Éireann has said that those using the indicated waterways should be aware that south-easterly winds, veering south-westerly, will reach up to force 6 or higher.
