Cork man Kieran O’Donovan is the new CEO of Belong To, the national organisation for LGBT+ young people.

The Bandon native joins after a two-decade career in Dublin’s creative industry, most recently as head of client service at the Thinkhouse youth marketing agency. The appointment will ensure that LGBT+ youth in regional Ireland remain a priority for Belong To.

“Growing up in Bandon, I understand the unique importance of local community and the role that regional youth groups and inclusive schools play,” said Mr O’Donovan.

“While Belong To is a national organisation, our mission is to ensure that no matter where a young person lives — from West Cork to North Donegal — they feel a sense of belonging.”

Patricia Carey, chairperson of Belong To, said Mr O’Donovan’s expertise will be a “game-changer” for the charity.

Ms Carey said: “Kieran’s ability to build authentic communities will ensure our message of inclusion reaches every corner of Ireland.”
