A new animated series, featuring the voice of Cork's Late Late Toy Show star, Adam King, is currently running on RTÉ 2, RTÉ KIDSjr and the RTÉ Player.

The show, entitled Adam Loves Adventure, sees an animated Adam take on new exciting adventures in outer space with some intergalactic pals.

The Killeagh native plays a problem-solving space explorer who uses his big heart and space smarts to make new friends and learn new things.

The show, also featuring the voices of Paul Tylak as Bubby, Emer O’Neil as Shelby, Bonnie O’Meara as Speedy and Portia McLaughlin as Zuzu, follows the crew of The Shelby airship as they fly through the universe meeting unique aliens and exploring new worlds.

Adam said he is “really proud of the show” and enjoyed taking part in the project.

“I love the characters and all the adventures they go on,” he said.

“I think it’s really cool to hear my voice in the show.” The new production comes from the same team at Kavaleer Productions that created the festive special, Adam Saves Christmas, in 2021.

CEO of Kavaleer Productions, Andrew Kavanagh said the new show “means the world to me”.

“The first time I saw Adam on TV during the lockdown of 2020, his hopeful message of connection and optimism during those dark days of Covid inspired to create this show and spread that joy with children everywhere,” said Mr Kavanagh.

“It’s been a privilege and a pleasure to work with Adam, his family and the amazing talented cast and crew at Kavaleer in bringing it to life.” Executive producer of children and young people’s programming at RTÉ, Eimear O'Mahony said the team is “so proud” of the new series.

“From the fun visual style, to the super talented voice cast and the script that parents will enjoy as much as their kids will, there’s something for everyone,” said Ms O’Mahony.

“We apologise if the uber-catchy theme song is in your head for the rest of the day.” The sci-fi comedy series aired yesterday with a double bill on RTÉ2 and on RTÉ KIDSjr and all episodes are available to watch on the RTÉ Player.
