Cork bakeries join surplus food firm for 'Croissant Day'

To celebrate National Croissant Day today, Too Good To Go, the marketplace for surplus food, has pulled together a list of bakery partners in Cork offering 'surprise' bags of pastries.
Pastries are proving increasingly popular with Irish consumers, with IBEC (Irish Business and Employers Confederation) data showing that the baked goods market in Ireland was €914.3m in 2023, employing 7,587 people.
Rescuing unsold baked goods through Too Good To Go means people can get great pastries for a third of the price, while also helping the environment by cutting down on food waste.
By downloading the app, users can find nearby bakeries, cafés, and shops with surplus croissants and other treats, helping to ensure that no perfectly good pastry goes to waste.
Too Good To Go’s Croissants and Bakeries in Cork include The Bookshelf Coffee House on South Mall & Eglinton Street, where Too Good To Go bags can be collected from 3pm to 3.50pm for €3.99.
Cameron Bakery on Patrick St offers collection from 8am to 5pm for €5.99, while Café Nero on Oliver Plunkett St has surprise bags available from 6:30pm to 7.15pm for €3.99.
