Retired Ballincollig principal is Cork Person of the Month

Pat Kinsella has been named Cork Person of the Month for August in recognition of his contribution to 11 different schools in a voluntary capacity.

Mr Kinsella served as chairperson or sole manager in eight schools and joined the board of management at a further three, following his retirement from his role as school principal in Ballincollig in 2012.

These positions allowed Mr Kinsella to share his expertise with principals and school boards, benefiting from his insights in areas such as governance, appointments, development projects, policies and Department of Education requirements.

Speaking on his career and voluntary efforts, Mr Kinsella said the real joy was in experiencing school communities that were totally focused on creating the optimum conditions for children.

Mr Kinsella’s name will now go forward for possible selection as Cork Person of the Year at the annual gala awards lunch in January.
