A lap-dancing club was the scene of a suspected burglary as a manager at the premises flagged down passing gardaí to report that a bag belonging to one of the cleaners had been stolen.

Sergeant Aisling Murphy said at Cork District Court that the alleged incident occurred at Secrets lap-dancing club on Leitrim St, on December 4, 2025.

Curtis Keniry, aged 30, whose address was given as St Patrick’s Church, Lower Glanmire Rd, Cork, was identified as the person who carried out the burglary, Sgt Murphy said.

Judge Catherine Ryan was told that there were bank cards, loyalty cards, and membership cards in the wallet that was taken, as well as just over €100 in cash, at around 6pm on the day. All of the cards were recovered.

Solicitor Frank Buttimer said the defendant was pleading guilty to the offence.

Judge Ryan adjourned sentencing until February 9 so that a victim impact statement could be prepared, if the owner wished.
