The home of Cork GAA will welcome the girls in green back to the grounds later this year, for a World Cup qualifier game.

Ireland’s women’s team will return to Páirc Uí Chaoimh for the World Cup qualifier against Netherlands on Friday, June 5.

Meetings of An Coiste Bainistíochta and Ard Chomhairle took place on Friday and Saturday respectively, with the latter summit approving a proposal by Cork GAA to stage the game at the venue.

Campaign begins in March

Ireland begin their campaign on Tuesday, March 3 by hosting France at 10,000-seater Tallaght Stadium before travelling to face the Dutch four days later.

Manager Carla Ward had expressed her desire to move fixtures around the country when the League A draw was made.

In 2024, the Cork grounds hosted the European Championship qualifier win over the French in July.

Goals from Denise O’Sullivan, Julie-Ann Russell, and Anna Patten helped an Ireland side managed by Eileen Gleeson to a 3-1 win.

This first-ever competitive women's international football match at the venue drew almost 20,000 spectators

Last summer, Cork native Saoirse Noonan was on target on her home turf as the Republic of Ireland defeated Slovenia at SuperValu Páirc Uí Chaoimh in the UEFA Women’s Nations League.
