Cork Arts Theatre play brings the ins and outs of 40-year marriage to life

Lovesong, by Abi Morgan, is on at the Cork Arts Theatre from Jan 20-24 and Jan 26-31

The Cork Arts Theatre will this month host 11 performances of Abi Morgan’s critically acclaimed play LOVESONG.

Produced by the Cork-based Red ’n’ Blue Theatre Company, the play follows the ebb and flow of Maggie and Billy’s 40-year marriage.

It returns to Leeside following sold-out runs across Cork, Waterford, and Dublin last year.

Nominated in five categories at the Waterford News & Star Green Room Awards, the play is told from both perspectives, from when they were in their 30s and from later in life, from the optimism of youth to the wisdom of experience.

The cast, which includes Dylan Kennedy, Seán Ahern, Mary Flavin-Colbert, and Jenny Fennessy, will take to the stage for 11 performances between January 20 and January 31, from 8pm nightly at the Carrolls Quay venue.

Tickets for the performances, which will have a running time of 70 minutes without an interval, are priced from €18 and can be purchased online.
