Kilshannig 2-24 Argideen Rangers 0-15

Kilshannig will meet St Catherine's in the Co Op Superstores Premier JHC final after an emphatic victory before a fine attendance in Coachford on Sunday.

They started strongly, clearly driven on by their Senior A football loss the weekend before, with early points by Damian Murphy and Andy Hourigan, who ended up with 0-6 from play.

Darragh O'Donovan clipped a score for the Carbery side but in the seventh minute, good play by Darragh O'Sullivan, Paddy Walsh and Tom Cunningham led to a Diarmuid O'Sullivan goal. From there on they took complete control.

Colm O'Shea was in great form at full-back with the half-back line breaking up many Argideen Rangers attacks. Diarmuid O'Sullivan and Sean Murray exchanged points before Hourigan thundered into the game, scoring from all angles.

Philip Flynn kept Rangers in touch with a free but by the 25th minute, Kilshannig led 1-9 to 0-7. Two minutes later, a long-range free by Kieran Twomey was finished to the net by Jack Twomey.

In injury time, Kieran Twomey landed a long-range point followed by a pair from Jack Twomey that made it 2-12 to 0-8 at the break.

The expected Argideen revival did not materialise on the restart. Andy Hourigan pointed. Good covering by Conor Murphy, Eoghan Burke and Colm O'Shea kept them at bay.

Flynn and Walsh exchanged frees as the Avondhu side were 2-15 to 0-10 clear after 41 minutes.

Kilshannig continued to do well with Kevin Smith, Kieran Twomey, Jack Twomey and Paddy Walsh moving them 2-20 to 0-11 clear by the 51st minute.

Rangers, who were forced to line out without the injured John Michael O'Callaghan, lacked penetration up front. Both sides made a number of subs as the match petered out.

Ryan Crowley had a great point for the Avondhu side followed by another for Kieran Twomey. In injury time, Walsh (free) and Bill Fleming completed the scoring.
