2. Nano Nagle Place Hosts Landmark Launch of 250th Anniversary Celebrations. Presentation Sister's from all over the world came together for the 250th anniversary of the founding of the Presentation Congregation, marking a profound moment in Irish social, educational, and cultural history. The event took place in Nano Nagle Place, Cork, close to the site of Nano Nagle’s first schools and her original convent on Douglas Street, grounding the celebration firmly in the city where her remarkable mission began.

Ballyphehane GAA have extended their thanks to all who supported their SVP Christmas Appeal this year.
A spokesperson for the team said: "A huge and heartfelt thank you to everyone in our amazing community who donated to this year’s SVP Children’s Appeal organised by Ballyphehane GAA. From toys and clothes to vouchers and monetary donations, the generosity shown was truly incredible."

On Saturday, December 27, St Finbarr's held another successful long puck event, with a record number of teams turning out on the day.
The adult winners were Jack Kelly, Adam Buckley and Ethan Twomey.
The Christy Dooley Trophy winners were Seanie Barry, Eoghan Finn and James McDonnell.
The Family 1 team winners were: Ben Cunningham with Brian and Ger Cunningham.
Family 2 team winners were: Paddy Murray with Lena and Damien Murray.
The Juvenile Girl winners were Faye Moynihan, Liadh Sheehan and Aoife O'Mahony.
The Juvenile Boy winners were Aidan Cotter and Jack Corcoran.
The Blues have extended their thanks to sponsors; The Dooley family, Eamonn Fitzpatrick, Mycro, O'Brien Coaches, as well as all who participated on the day.
Turner's Cross Councillor Dan Boyle reflected on his time as Lord Mayor in 2025 before passing the torch to Togher man Councillor Fergal Dennehy.
Cllr Boyle said: "My 2025 was dominated by the final six months of my term as Ard Mhéara Chorcaí, the biggest honour of my public life. To the best of my ability, I sought to represent the city. Meeting mayors, ambassadors, and important visitors to the city, I got to celebrate our special culture in sport, in music and through our festivals. "
"Marking Rory Gallagher's anniversary was especially important to me. The biggest honour was being able to acknowledge the contribution of so many people who help to make Cork City the great city it is. We need to celebrate that more."
Tickets are selling fast the Ballyphehane GAA Dinner Dance, which is to be held on January 31 in Rochestown Park Hotel.
For anyone looking to purchase them in person, members of the club will be at the clubhouse every Tuesday between 6.30pm to 7.30pm.
Tickets can also be purchased through Lisa on 0873172232 and Hayley on 0851347327 via Revolut or bank transfer.
The cut off point for the ticket purchases will be January 18.
Tickets are €60 per person and will include an evening of food, drinks and live entertainment.
St Finbarr's will meet Athenry again in the AIB All-Ireland Camogie Club Senior Championship final replay at 5:15pm, Saturday January 3 in FBD Semple Stadium.
