The driver of a car died following a crash with a lorry on the N20 in Co Limerick at around 2am this morning in the Bruree area.

The N20 Cork to Limerick road is closed after a fatal collision in Limerick this morning, gardaí have advised.

The driver of a car died following a crash with a lorry on the N20 in Co Limerick at around 2am this morning in the Bruree area. They were pronounced dead at the scene, which is currently being preserved for a forensic examination.

The N20 is closed between O’Rourke’s Cross and Banogue, just north of Charleville, and motorists are advised to avoid the road.

The driver of the lorry, a man in his 20s, was brought to University Hospital Limerick with non-life threatening injuries.

Gardai said investigations are ongoing. They have appealed for any witnesses, including those in the area at the time who may have dashcam footage, to contact them.
