Global philanthropic network, The Ireland Funds, has made donations to 10 organisations in Cork.

The organisation’s Heart of the Community Fund aims to empower a wide range of programmes that provide vital services and strengthen communities.

The Cork recipients of this year’s Heart of the Community Fund include Active Connections CLG, Irish Dogs for the Disabled, The Crann Centre, The Down Syndrome Centre Cork, Sample-Studios, See My Skills, Iris House Cork Cancer Support, Huruma CLG (Wellsprings), Autism Assistance Dogs Ireland, and Cork International Film Festival CLG.

Grants awarded under the fund will range from €5,000 to €25,000, out of a $750,000 funding pot awarded to a total of 62 organisations in 15 counties across the country.

The funding is made possible by philanthropic gifts and fundraising events of The Ireland Funds America, which is the largest of the 12 international chapters of The Ireland Funds.

President and CEO of The Ireland Funds, Caitriona Fottrell said the organisation is “delighted to announce the recipients of the Heart of the Community Fund 2025”.

“These organisations represent the resilience, creativity, and commitment that strengthen communities across Ireland,” said Ms Fottrell.

“Thanks to the generosity of our donors, we can provide meaningful support that addresses the priorities and pressures facing the sector.

“This funding will help ensure these vital initiatives continue to make a real difference.”

The Heart of the Community Fund supports non-profits under The Ireland Funds four funding pillars of Arts and Culture, Community Development, Education, and Peace and Reconciliation.

This most recent grant round is focused on organisations engaging young people and their families in underserved communities, including through skill-building, employment supports, mental health services, and cultural programming.

This year’s Heart of the Community Fund is a testament to the enduring commitment of The Ireland Funds and its supporters.

Ms Fottrell additionally said by providing timely funding, these grants will enable non-profits to “address pressing community needs and create a lasting impact on the lives of many”.
